My Philosophy
In my 12+ years of experience, I have realized that teaching young minds is a task that cannot be taken lightly. It is full of challenges, frustrations, and responsibilities. However, it is a task that is also full of excitement, wonder, satisfaction, and joy. Working with different culture and students from different backgrounds, I have realized students are same everywhere – they all are similar with the same zest for learning, have same sparks of curiosity and full of potential - irrespective to the place, color , or economic background. I strongly believe that all children are capable of learning if they have the proper motivation and direction from their teachers. I believe each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. I wish to enable children to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I have a vision of a world where people learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between us, as the core of what makes the world a great place to learn from each other
The ideology and philosophy of International Education is the answer to the current issues of education and the future of education. However, I feel there is a wide gap between the idealistic and pragmatic approach. I feel an approach to learning that is embedded in common sense which focuses on quality of learning AND student wellbeing is the need of the hour. The teachers need to understand that their role must change with the changing face of education. It’s a teacher who can very much influence his/her learners to change their outlook towards life, to find the meaning and purpose of their life and be the change makers of the future. The role of a teacher must shift from a ‘sage on the stage’ to a ‘guide on the side’.
Both the complexity of education and the complexity of human individuals have made the comprehensive application of diverse educational approaches necessary. Those new horizons are what fascinate me. We are at a juncture where a revolutionary educational change is required. We need to prepare the individuals who are equipped, resolve unthought of problems , face an unseen future - a future which is growing exponentially and beyond our imagination, a future where the boundaries are blurred by the internet and exchange of ideas is happening at a global level.
“Transformed people transform people” Richard Rohr- If teachers can change their outlook towards teaching and learning they can transform our students who in turn will transform the future for better and be the change makers the world needs.
“Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world usually do.”― Steve Jobs
I would like to reframe the quote as -
